The dust from the horrific attacks in Brussels has not even settled, and some are already using them to gain political advantage in the fight for 'Brexit'. UKIP defence spokesman, for instance, was quick to offer an analysis of the attacks, explaining that it was EU-free movement rules that posed a threat to UK national security (regardless of the fact that the identity of the perpetrators is not known yet). David Cameron has been very critical of such strategies; the time was not appropriate for those sorts of remarks, he said.
Bloomberg asked, in a similarly way, whether the terrorist attacks pushed the UK away from Europe, while also reporting that the pound posted the biggest decline among major currencies amid speculation that the Brussels attacks will boost the case for 'Brexit'.
