Britain risks being at the 'tyranny of the executive'


Britain risks being at the “tyranny of the executive” as the government continues to show disregard for the rule of law and judicial independence, according to a letter from BiE director, Professor Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos, published in The Guardian today.

In a strongly-worded public intervention, Prof Giannoulopoulos asks what Lord Bingham, hailed as the greatest judge of his era and a staunch defender of human rights, would make of the current situation.
